The Indwelling Trinity – 2trinity

a silent retreat with The Reverend Tom Ward

FEBRUARY 26 – MARCH 1, The Galilee Centre, Arnprior, Ontario

In the Guidelines for the Centering Prayer Method Thomas Keating
refers to “God’s presence and action within.”

In an essay on the Divine Indwelling, he describes this as the “fundamental theological principle of the spiritual journey.” In still another context, he says that “the whole of the holy and blessed Trinity is within” every human being. The conference during this retreat will explore this reality in scripture, in the tradition, and in the practice of centering prayer – toward the end of deepening our relation to the triune living One who is present and active within us.

The Reverend Tom Ward has been an Episcopal priest for almost forty years, serving parishes in Mississippi and Tennessee; from 1994 through 2005, he was University Chaplain at Sewanee, the University of the Sough (the one university owned and operated by the Episcopal Church in the United States). Tom now focuses on the contemplative dimension of the Gospel, teaching centering prayer and leading retreats. He has a special interest in fostering this practice in local congregations. For the past twenty-?five years Tom has worked closely with Thomas Keating and Contemplative Outreach.
